The Meaning of Tea
Old Faith Club
Making of Tea (Rough Cut)
Making of Tea captures the art and beauty behind the making of a “white filament” Oolong tea from Taiwan, known as Oriental Beauty. Its delicate name describes a sweet honey flavor attributed to bites from a tiny regional insect, which start the tea’s oxidation process before the leaves are plucked. Set to soulful original music, this short silent film reveals the meticulous process from tea field to tea cup; plucking, withering, hand tossing, rolling and roasting at the hands of a master tea-maker.
